Nokia invites you to Bangalore!

Some people are easy to motivate while most have a closed mind to receive fresh ideas. But I don’t blame them. Such category of people requires a different kind of motivation; mere talk, however sincere it may be, won’t penetrate their mind and arouse their interest.

I got an idea! I was informed of a mobile application developers conference organized by Forum Nokia in Bangalore on 20th January, 2009 at Trinity, Taj Residency.

Why don’t leading engineering colleges pick out the interested future IT engineers and send them to attend this Bangalore Conference where they can meet the best minds in this industry? This would give them a rare chance to interact with the peers in mobile application industry, submit their innovative mobile applications ideas.

Ah, yes, the aspiring IT engineers will have diverse interest in mobile application development and that’s why there are different sessions in the conference addressing different modules in the same industry.

Of the three different sessions, I have some input for the conference participants for the ‘Technology Showcase’ session where one can speak out loudly on his dreams without any inhibition.

For them, I would request them to explore the possibilities of getting more people use the mobile platform for social networking. I have this interesting statistics for them in this regard: “Orange users access a staggering 166 million pages of social networking websites on their mobiles every month.”

I am forwarding this blog post to a few of my ex-students who are currently studying IT and Computer Engineering.

Earn up to $4 per survey.

Asian citizens would probably hate these survey companies that welcome only citizens of the U.S., U.K., Canada.

Survey Head
is slightly different. They send surveys to French and German citizens too. Of course, if you are an Indian citizen, you may be allowed to register but don't get disappointed if no surveys come by your side. They pay between $0.50 to $4 per survey.

They also give $5 as sign up bonus.

Here is an interesting earning opportunity. They appoint affiliates to encourage people taking online surveys from their blogs. For every completed survey, affiliates are paid a commission though there is no mention about the rate. I think it varies with every survey.

They claim to have paid out over 5 million dollars since their inception in 1995. That commands respect-eh?

How to improve credit ratings by spending?

I am not kidding. You can improve your credit rating by actually spending! Yes, there are fair credit cards that can be applied for by those who have a credit rating range of 620 to 660.

It is a known fact that the above credit rating score is not favorably looked upon by credit card issuing banks. But to be fair to people who hold low credit score, both Master card and Visa card institutions have come up with this fair credit card options.

They are aware that some are unfortunate to lose their credit rating even though they had good intention of paying the credit card dues on time. To give such people a chance to regain their noteworthy credit rating, fair credit cards are given to them.

If they use the fair credit cards fairly which means avoiding exceeding the purchase limit and paying the monthly balance on time, then, it is very likely to get back their top credit score.

Ah, I almost forgot to tell you that this fair credit card can also be applied for after comparing the deals offered by various credit card issuers.

A fair deal-eh?

Where to sell digital content?

Time and again, I was promoted to sell my digital content online or offline by some of my friends. They have seen many of my lists and they were immensely benefited. They know my content's worth and encourage me to take my stuff online.

I now have the confidence to sell my content online. I now fully realize the value of them but where do I sell my content? Through blog? But blog is not an e-commerce platform.

For example. I have a big list of online income opportunities without a website or blog. I have been selling this offline for just $2 equivalent of Indian Rupees. I am making at least two sales a day.

Can someone tell me where to put up for sale of digital content?

Parked domains are cash chests.

This genuine Internet business is only for those who look to earn online without a web site or blog. Are you wondering how is it possible to earn from Internet without an online presence?

It is possible and there quite a few ways to make money online without a website or blog. Making money from parked domains is one such way but the money is not a big amount. Earnings are definitely low when compared to others but then, the work concerned with this methods is also low-almost no work.

If you have a domain but not built a blog or website on it, then your domain can be parked with a domain parking service like sedo.com. Nowadays, your domain registrars also park your domain that is free of content. But they enjoy the traffic benefits.

How this works:
Domain owners put AdSense in their undeveloped domains and with the help of professional domain parking service providers they make money by PPC method. The domain parkers take the responsibility of bringing traffic.

Example:
Parked.com is a domain parking service. You can sign up with them for free and point your domains to them. They will host your domain in their servers. Parked.com will find relevant phrases, categories and templates that are related to your domain. When the visitor clicks out to one of the advertisers you will be paid for that click.

For more explanation and a screen shot demo, please Parked.com

Earn by publishing in-text links.

The Kontera logo.Image via Wikipedia

A year or so before, small time bloggers and website owners cannot of think of joining hands with Kontera to monetize their site. They would take only very high traffic sites.

The story is re-written now. They have taken even this blog into their fold of in-text advertising. They now offer in-text advertising and publishers can benefit from this financially.

Kontera’s ContentLink In-Text Website Advertising lets you monetize your content in real-time, resulting in an increased revenue. These in-text ads always point to us whether our content has really proper keywords relevant to the topic we have written on.

Like you already see in this blog where some words appear with towlines beneath them and when the mouse is over them, another window emerges with an advertisement, which, when clicked, the revenue is shared by Kontera with you.

Women pay less on car insurance.

I learnt a few tricks to pay the cheapest car insurance rates because of a typing mistake I committed while searching for something else.

It happened like this: Since I already received two reminders from the motor car insurance company to pay the premium on my son’s motorbike insurance, I thought I will also get insurance quotes from at least 5 auto insurance companies to compare rates.

I made a sincere attempt to search for a facilitator that gathers and delivers motorbike insurance quotes online. But, I think I wrongly clicked on one of the search results and landed on a comprehensive insurance website (nlgha.org) that delivers insurance quotes for car insurance, term life insurance and home insurance

Fine, now, I thought I can also get a free insurance quote for my sports car from nlgha.org. Actually, I wanted to know if there is any way to pay lesser premium for sports car insurance. I got a couple of tips by reading useful articles on car insurance at nlgha.org

Do you know that discounts on premium are given to teenage drivers and female drivers? You will get to know more useful cost saving car insurance tips if you read an article titled, “The factors which influence your car insurance rates’.

I hope you will find this blog post quite useful.

Toys that shape children’s personality.

Educational toys FTW!

How come some children boast of toys that are unique and exciting and some children sulk at having mediocre toys that can be bought from roadsides?

I would point out the following reasons:

*Ignorance of where to buy toys

*Ignorance of what kinds of toys that shapes their children’s personality

*Lack of money

There is another important aspect; I would like to speak about parents that enjoy buying gifts to their children while many parents lack patience to shop around. It is the first category of parents that end up buying excellent and cheap toys that bring out the best in their children. By cheap toys, I don’t mean worthless toys. While the price may be cheap, its entertainment value is superior.

Personally, I don’t believe in buying 100% educational toys. In my experience, fun toys are more educational than any other kind of toys.

Some toys might be rejected by some children. It is an indication of their basic nature and skill. If you keenly take notice of this aspect, I am sure you will buy toys that will shape your child’s personality at a very early stage.

Jobroll pays per click.

You are a blogger and that too a serious blogger. Like me, you too blog for fun and money. You might have already monetized your blog with various CPC and CPA based ad programs.

How about displaying a 'Jobroll' just above your blogroll? Once in place, the jobroll widget will show various job listings under different categories. When your blog visitor clicks on a job listing, you are paid.

As an advanced user, you can also earn money by allowing employers to post job listings.

You can also place a 'Job Search Box' in your blog. The clicks on the search results will fetch you cash.

Cool idea!

I don't have the details of revenue sharing but I believe it is pretty low, otherwise it would have been very popular blog monetization program.

Google page rank reinstated.

The pleasant surprise came out of the blue. I never expected or even anticipated that this blog will get back its Google page rank. It was 3 when it was stripped to zero about an year back.

Today, I see the familiar green band showing 3/10 when the mouse was kept hovering over it. Nowadays, I can immediately predict what the page rank is even without the help of the mouse. Quite a pair of trained eyes-eh?
Bravo
While I thank the almighty Google for reinstating the page rank, I am still afraid they may take it back anytime. Last month, my Is It So? blog got back it some of its lost page rank.

I am happy that Google is turning a soft corner for bloggers. I wonder how many bloggers are happy today.
Thank you very much Google!
